Cabbage pallya:)

Ingredients
  • Finely Chopped cabbage
  • Grated coconut
Pinch of
  • Chilli powder
  • Coriander powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Jaggery
  • Salt
  • Tumeric powder
Tempering
  • Oil
  • Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves
Step 1:  Heat the oil in the cooking pan; add mustard seeds, when it splutters completely add curry leaves into it.  Now add the chopped cabbage with the little amount of water, close the lid for 2-3 minutes. Now, add salt and turmeric powder as per the taste and boil the cabbage until the leaves become soft and bendable.

Step 2: Mix chilli powder, cumin powder with the grated coconut and add it with the boiling cabbage and mix well, now close the lid again until the water evaporates. At last add pinch of coriander powder to it  and keep it for few 2/3 minutes. Now turn off the heat and the pallya is ready to serve!!!!

Baale huli:)

 Ingredients
  • Banana-chopped 1 cup
  • Curd
  • Coriander leaves.
  • Temarind paste
  • Salt
Tempering
  • Oil
  • Mustard seeds
  • Jeera/Cumin seeds
  • Green chilli
  • Curry leaves
Step 1: Heat the oil in a cooking pan, add mustard seeds, once it splutter add jeera/cumin seeds, finely chopped green chillies, turn off the heat add curry leaves.

Step 2: Transfer these content to a bowl, add chopped bananas and equal amount of curd. Mash it well, then add salt and tamarind puree as per taste. Finally, garnish with the coriander leaves.



Sweet bread:)

I had seen this recipe in one of the TV show. Felt it's simple and tasty:)

Ingredients
  • Bread slices
  • Sugar
  • Cardamom
  • Kesari
  • Cashew nuts
  • Oil
Step 1: Remove the dark side of the bread and cut it with a nice shape. Now, in a vessel take little amount of sugar and add water to it. Saute till the sugar dissolves in the water. Once it is done keep aside.

Step 2: Heat the oil in a cooking pan and fry (deep fry) the bread pieces in it. When it becomes brown in colour transfer the bread pieces into the sugar solution. Finally, add Cardamom and kesari to it.

Garnish with the  Cashew nuts:)

Kids love it:)

Tomato Rasam

I think this one is all time fav for everyone:) Me tho love it :) Rasam n pallya dish is superb combination:)

Ingredients
  • Tomato 4-5
  • Tamarind paste/mash and soak it in a little amount of water before using
  • Rasam powder
  • Toor daal


Step 1:  Wash and cook toor daal in a pressure cooker. After 5-6 whistle turn of the heat and keep aside.

Step 2: In the vessel take little amount of water, add tamarind puree, turmeric powder, jaggery, salt as per taste and make it boil. Back to that add chopped tomatoes and cook until Tomatoes turn soft.

Step 3: Now, mash the cooked toor daal and add it to the vessel. Further add rasam powder to it and cook it for 5 minutes.

For tempering heat the oil in the cooking pan, add mustard seeds. Once it splutter add hing, turn off the heat add the curry leaves.

Finally, transfer it into the vessel with rasam and garnish with the finely chopped Coriander Leaves and close the lid.


It goes well with rice:)


Menasinakayi (Bitter Gourd/Hagalakayi:))

My all time fav dish:)

Ingredients
  •  Bitter Gourd/Hagalakayi
  • Ghee
  • Temarind paste
  • Jaggery
  • Green chilli
  • Sesame seeds/Til
  • Grated coconut
Tempering
  • Oil
  • Red chilli
  • Toor daal
  • Curry Leaves
Step 1:  Fry chopped Bitter Gourd with ghee untill the smell goes away.
Take a temarind paste and jagggery in a container, add water and make it boil. when it has started boiling add fried veggies and green chilli 1-2 into it.

Step 2:  Fry Sesame Seeds/til and grated coconut seperately without oil. Blend the fried items together and make a fine paste, now add it to the boiling container.

Step 3: For tempering heat the oil, add red chillies, toor daal-1sp. When it become brown in color turn off the heat and add curry leaves.

Transfer these into the container and close the lid.

It goes well with Idly, dosa and rice. 


Bolu:)

It's a very simple recipe. For beginner's it's easy n tasty:)

Ingredients
  • Tamarind paste/mash and soak it in the water
  • Green chillies
  • Onion
  • Red Chilli powder
  • Jaggery
Tempering
  • Oil
  • Mustard seeds
  • Curry Leaves
Step 1:  Add tamarind puree into the water container and boil it. When it has started boiling add chopped vegetables(It can be Ladies finger/Brinjol/Cucumber/Beetroot).  Later, add green chillies, salt as per taste. Chopped onions, pinch of turmeric powder, jaggery to be added back to back.

For tempering heat the oil in a pan, add mustard seeds. When it splutters turn of the heat and add curry leaves into it.

Add to the container and close the lid.

It goes well with the rice..

note-->To make beetroot blou grate it instead of chopping it:))

Alasande/Cow Peas Pulav:)

Here I come after a short and sweet weekend.. Life is short, make it sweet by yummy foods:))

   Ingredients
  • Alasande/chopped-cut it by keeping 1 cm length
  • White rice-1cup
  • Green Peas-soaked
  • Green chillies
  • Garlic/optional
  • Onion/chopped
  • Ginger
  • Grated coconut
  • Chakke/Cinnamon
  • Pathre/Bay Leaf
  • Cloves/Lavanga
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • Ghee
Step 1:  Prepare white rice as usual by adding green peas into it else it takes a long time to boil.

Step 2: In a cooking pan heat a little amount of oil, add Cinnamon,Pathre ,Cloves one by one and  saute untill it becomes reddish in colour. Now, add onion, garlic-ginger-green chiili paste and fry till the raw smell goes away. 

Step 2: Add chopped alasande/cow peas to the mixer with 2 sps of ghee and mix it well. Now add grated cocconut and salt as per the taste.  Mix thoroughly and close the lid.

Step 3: Wait untill they are properly boiled:)) then transfer it into the bowl and mix it well with the already prepared rice.

now here is the yummy yummy pulav to taste:))

Option: You can even add carrot to it:) It goes well with the morning breakfast or lunch:)
